Original canvas. The work appears to be in very good overall condition. Evidence of minor frame abrasion to edges, including to corners, with possible associated rubbing and very minor pigment loss. One or two very small areas of extremely fine lines of craquelure. A short diagonal scuff in the lower left quadrant, one or two further more minor instances elsewhere. Very light surface dust, a few specks of matter and studio detritus in places. Ultraviolet light reveals no obvious signs of fluorescence or retouching. The work is presented in a gold painted wooden frame, held under glass.
